With this project I had three goals: 1) become more comfident with the photogrammetry workflow, 2) write documentation for the process for myself and 3) see if it was possible to take damp and heavy sand from sweden and make it look like it belonged in a desert.
I'm so incredibly happy that I did the documentation, I've written down every step and every button as well as what turtorials, links and documenatations I've used. This is incredibly useful when it's been a while since I last scanned something. As for if I could make dry sand from damp sand? Some say yes, personally I still think it looks like swedish sand but now with a touch of gingerbread dough. But that is okay, it was the process and learning opportunity to experiment I was looking for - not a specific result looks wise.
I used:
* a canon 6D mark II - for pictures/scan
* RealityScan - compiling
* Blender - lowpoly
* Substance Designer - baking
* photoshop, unity, substance painter - cleaning up
